Talk That Rocks will be off the air from Tuesday April 28th until further notice. Talk That Rocks plans to return to the net-waves on Tuesday May 26th!

CD Release of the Week #38
Hello all…welcome to yet another dreary Chicago Tuesday. I mean seriously, can’t we get some nice weather here already. I don’t know what it’s like where all of you are, but it’s not so hot here (in both uses of the word). At least the weather is supposed to pick up soon here and to start it all off we’ve got a brand new CD Release of the Week.
This week’s CD Release is Mean Everything to Nothing from Manchester Orchestra. I saw Manchester Orchestra for the first time last summer at Lollapalooza and have been waiting for their new CD ever since. They played a few tracks off of Mean Everything to Nothing at the show but today we finally got to hear it in all it’s glory, and boy is it good. The band packs a lyrical and emotional punch on their 2nd album and their not afraid to mix in some heartfelt ballads with all the rock they’re throwing at us.

CD Release of the Week #37
Hello all you Talk That Rocks fans out there!! I’m back with another CD Release of the Week for you.
This week was a little slow but we got a pretty good CD out of it. The release in question is Swoon from Silversun Pickups. You may remember Silversun Pickups from the song “Lazy Eye” which was a huge hit for them a couple of years ago. Well they’re back with more of the same, which is sometimes not so great, but in this case it totally works. Silversun Pickups put their recognizable sound to a whole new batch of songs with Swoon and what comes out is a CD full of thrashing guitars and high-pitched male vocals. Trust me, it’s good.

New on the Web is Rockville, CAfrom Josh Schwartz, who crafted network hits The OC and Gossip Girl. And launching in May is $5 Cover from Craig Brewer, director of 2005’s Hustle & Flow. Read more
The Mars Volta Enter the Octahedron
Behold! It’s the new Mars Volta album! Titled Octahedron and due out June 23 on Warner Bros., the album clocks in at an uncharacteristically trim 49 minutes. Why, that’s practically an EP by Mars Volta standards! Shockingly, Octahedron contains seven songs, not eight. UPDATE: It actually does contain eight songs. Sorry! We were given incorrect information. The leadoff track and first single is “Since We’ve Been Wrong”. They do all have typically cryptic titles, though. Read more
